Duller By the Day
I’m going to share with you guys the best products to use to fake a glow. I mean that lovely, natural, healthy glow that comes from a bit of time spent outdoors in the sunlight but as we’ve all been stuck indoors and the weather hasn’t been great up until this week, we’ve had no way of getting that healthy glow without cheating it.
Thanks to my Portuguese genes I have a naturally tanned skin tone (thanks Dad!) but my natural glow has gone and I don’t know about you guys, but my skin is getting duller by the day. If I want glowing skin at the moment, or any time soon, then I just have to fake a glow!
I Don’t Fake Tan
I don’t tend to use fake tans on my body, I hate the smell of most of them and I just don’t have the time to exfoliate, moisturise, tan my whole body, let it develop and then wash it off – without one of the kids needing to be picked up, fed or bathed in between! It just doesn’t fit in with my lifestyle, so I apart from on my face, I avoid them.
How I Fake a Glow
The only time I’ve ever fake tanned was for Dancing on Ice, but away from that, I sometimes add a few subtle tan drops to my moisturiser to give my face an added boost. I wear SPF on my face every day to protect it from (anymore) sun damage, so it doesn’t really see the sun. This means that a few tan drops are the only way to match up my face to my body! So when I want a healthy glow, I use temporary products that really work and smell great.
I’ve been introduced to some great ‘glow’ products on photoshoots over the years, so I wanted to share them on here for anyone else who wants to fake a glow. The pic at the top of this blog was snapped quickly on a phone, in between changes on a magazine shoot back in January but the natural light was great, my hair and makeup had been done and my body was covered in Vita Liberata Body Blur so I felt great and just went for it!
